FAQ's

How large are the mini gardens?

Comparision size of Junior, 3 Layer Jumbo & 4 Layer Jumbo

The Junior mini garden stands 42cm high and is about 35cm in diameter. It holds about 15 litres of potting mix.
The 3 layer Jumbo stands 67cm high, is 57cm in diameter and holds a bag and a half of mix (45 litres). 4 layer Jumbo stands 87cm tall and neatly fills with 2 bags of potting mix (60 litres). Each extra layer adds about 20cm to the height.

Can I order products in larger quantities than are offered in the online store?

Yes. Call by mid week and we shall endeavour to have your order delivered ready to get on with your project at the weekend.

Special prices are available for bulk orders, email your list through for a quote.

Available Brisbane metro only.

Do you deliver the mini gardens to the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

At the moment we have to deliver the fully planted mini gardens in person so that’s limited to the Brisbane metro area but we can send kits which contain everything you need to set up and get growing.

Check these in the product listings.

What is the crushed rock in the mini gardens?

We use a blend of Organic Zeolite and Diatomite as a thick mulch across the top of each layer to help retain moisture.

It also helps to buffer the fertiliser and keep nutrients readily available to the plants and looks decorative as well.

How much sun do Dr John’s mini gardens require?

It depends on what you are growing but most of the herbs will thrive in the full sun now that it’s starting to cool off slightly (mid March). Even if they can get the mornings sun they will do well.
