Testimonials

09 Jul 2007

I always strive to provide outstanding service and its rewarding to receive positive feedback from our customers. I’d like to share a couple we have received in the last week or so.

“Congratulations on a fabulous business. It seems that every brilliant garden idea I’ve ever found is on your site (and it’s difficult finding them, being an urban container gardener with only concrete to grow on)- plus a few that are new to me. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.”

I did receive it today. Thanks a million. Your service is second to none
Cheers,”

“We purchased a Jumbo Mini Garden at the recent garden show in Brisbane. We are so impressed with it we show it off to all and sundry. We have two relatives who wish to purchase the same set as we have.”

What we've been up to

06 Jun 2007

Busy Lizzie with Dave at Caboolture Environmental Centre

What a busy 6 weeks we have had! Starting off with the brilliant ABC Gardening Australia Expo, we were run off our feet fielding questions and setting people up with Dr John’s Mini Gardens so they can grow their own fresh herbs and veg at home. Being right next to Pete’s Veg Patch, it was interesting to note the huge numbers of people growing or considering growing their own produce to supplement their weekly shop, both for savings and freshness.
Next we exhibited at the inaugural Gluten Free Food and Allergy Expo where we set up a feature herb garden. Again it was busy with a number of people who can’t take artificial flavorings, turning to herbs to spice up their meals.

On the 2nd of June we attended the Sustainable Living Fair at the Caboolture Environmental Education Centre. We had a visit from Busy Lizzie who was showing people what could and what shouldn’t go into your recycle bin.

A couple of new release plants are now available from our Productive Plants section. Tara Valley have added a Tahitian Lime and low chill Blueberry to their Patio Orchard collection already home to the popular Lots of Lemons. They are all suitable for growing in a tub on the balcony and will provide a bountiful harvest.
We are now also stocking Hydrocell. A very light weight material with huge water holding capacity. Ideal for mixing through potting mixes at about 1:3 or digging in around plants in the garden. Your garden will flourish with less water.

Where will we be next?

16 June “Water Wise Mini Expo” 9am – 12 noon 27 Douglas St, Milton

6,7,8 July “Qld Home Garden Expo” Nambour Showground

30 September “BOGI Organic Fair” 102 McDonald Rd, Albion

19-21 October “Retirement & Lifestyle Expo” RNA Showgrounds

Welcome to Productive Gardens

Welcome to our new look web site.

Built around new online store technology, the result should be easier navigation around the site and a streamlined shopping experience. Now we can truly provide our valued customers with access to high quality products delivered straight to your door.

The first 10 days of March saw us manning our stand at the Brisbane Home Show. We met many interesting people and heard lots of innovative ways that they are coping with reduced water applications.

One of the products we had on display was the Wetpot watering system. A local invention, the clay bulbs deliver moisture right to the root zone using only the forces of gravity.

We now have a shipment of “Sugar Baby” strawberry runners from a certified virus free runner grower in stock. Mid sized and very sweet, they do really well in the Dr John’s mini gardens, up above the bugs and the slugs.

At the end of March we set up a display of mini gardens at the Fernwood fitness clubs open day. (Bris City branch) I would like to thank Cynthia and her staff for making us feel at home and I hope we were able to give the members some ideas for growing some fresh herbs, fruit and veg at home.

It’s not long now until the premier gardening event in Brisbane, the ABC Gardening Expo. The dates are the 27, 28 & 29th April and we’ll be there just next to Pete’s veggie patch.

Where we will be in May.
5th May Qld Garden Lifestyle Show at Redlands DPI
5 & 6th May Qld Herb Society Show at Mt.Coot-tha Botanical Gardens
12 & 13th May Gluten Free Food & Allergy Show at Bris Convention Centre
18 – 20th May What Women Want Expo at Gold Coast Convention Centre

Until next time, productive gardening.
